Safariland 7TS torture test.

micahSS ·
I've been meaning to do this for awhile, finally got around to making a video with my wife's iPhone...  Safariland claims the 7TS holster is impervious to heat, cold and water essentially and has sent it out to testers in a case of water with...

Thanks, micahSS . That is kind of what I was wondering about, since I use Glock 19s with extended barrels and weapon lights. So if I understand you correctly, you are recommending that I should use a Light Bearing Glock 17 7TS holster, if I have a light mounted on my Glock 19 with extended barrel, and just use a regular Glock 19 7TS holster, if I do not have the light mounted?

Slightly off topic, but I'm assuming the nub mod will not work with a hood? If it does where do I get one?

Has anyone figured out how to make the light bearing model work with a DG switch?

Plus, the Nub makes it easier to deactivate the ALS (it's also mentioned in the above video). Not something I necessarily want in a retention duty holster, but that's just me. And I love my 7360.

Dirty- I currently run a G22 on duty with a U-Boat and DG in a 7360. I had to dremel out the rear lip where the DG switch sits while holstered. If you look at that lip there is a significant chuck of plastic right in that spot so I didn't think it would ruin the integrity to remove some of it. The only downside I've come across is...

Armyscoutman25, Something I've done to all my ALS holsters, including the 7360, is stipple the releases. It helps with regular and support hand draws.

Yup, your glock 19 with barrel extended is same barrel length as the 17 essentially.

I'm currently having the Nub mod for the SLS (hood) level 3 holster worked up. It will be shaped a tad different and require you to remove the hood mechanism, add a small washer to the top screw to give it a bit of stand off, but still have most of the same benefit. It will come with a wrench for the holster, a washer or two, and the nub kit. A few...

My friend had to have a kydex holster custom made for his FNX-9 with a light. Another gun that Safariland doesn't accommodate.

Thanks for sharing this information. The gun that you had the extended/threaded barrel on….was that a 19? If so, did it fit in the 7TS holster made for the Glock 19, or did you have to use a Glock 17 holster to fit the extra barrel length? Nice oven mitt, by the way.

Re: Safariland 7TS torture test.

micahSS ·
thats my favorite mitt.... Yes that is a Glock 19, the 19 holster has a hole out the bottom so an extended barrel works fine. Suppressor would not. The only difference between the Glock 17 and Glock 19 light holsters are the length of the barrel plug. I believe I have just 17 light holsters and can run the 19 in them just fine with the light on. Without the light they work but has some play.

Any further opinions on this holster? The firearms training coordinator wants to transition to them and is looking for input. Of course, they don't make one for the FNS9 with a light....

I really like them, lightweight and slim. I use both light and non-light versions, but I am using the common plastic gun.

Comped Pistols and ALS Holsters PSA

Riafdnal ·
Jim Dexter found an issue with his comped duty pistol and his Safariland ALS duty holster. Placing the pistol into the holster for one handed manipulation with the slide locked to the rear requires the ALS system to be deactivated twice. The first deactivation unlocks the weapon for draw, the second release is required to allow the comp to pass through the locking mechanism.

Re: Comped Pistols and ALS Holsters PSA

Riafdnal ·
The issue seems to be with the space between the slide and comp when the slide is locked back. The shoulder of the comp locks into the mechanism of the ALS.

Is there anyway to get a different profile on your comp or perhaps some electrical tape to cover the comp ports until it is fired?

VP9 Holster with X300u and Threaded barrel

Spacetaco ·
Is there a Safariland holster that can accommodate a VP9 with a X300 and threaded barrel. This would be going on my battle belt. I just picked up a threaded barrel and I really want to run on the battle belt but trying to track that down overseas is painful. If there another holster that I can run please let me know. Thanks for all the help!

Sorry, it is the defender model in the heavy duty kydex...I just asked them to open up the bottom to allow the threaded barrel. Great quality and works great.

You just drop the slide before holstering, then reload, and finally run the slide by whatever means you would during a one-handed malfunction clearance. Rick

the code for the 34 with a tlr, stx plain and right hand is 6377-6832-411 Not sure how much the comp is adding to your pistol to see if you might be able to get away with the 17 holster. Quick search also seems like you might have to order from safariland direct.

Need Holster Help

MOJONIXON ·
Trying to determine what the P/N would be for a Safariland 6377/6378 that would fit a G19 with TBRC comp and Streamlight TLR-1. My best guess for fit is one that would be a model for G34. I have never been able to accurately of confidently navigate Safarilands codes. Anyone have the ability to help me out please speak up.

No. It doesn’t have to be, it is however what I’ve become accustomed to over the past 6 to 8 years or so. Do you have a specific model name/number for Blade-Tech that will fit my requirements?

Thanks. My current 6378 is for a 17 and my 19 with comp is a no go on fit. The holster is about 3/16” to 1/4” too short.

6377-6832-411 Just got off the phone with Safariland and while they wont definitively confirm that this is what I need, I'm pretty sure it'll do the job. My G19 with comp is only about .200" shorter than a G 34 slide so I should be GTG. $64.50 and 20% off of that if I order on-line. Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

I have found Safariland to have pretty good customer service and I've had to call them several times over the years to ask some detailed questions in order to get the right holster. They've always been able to help. You might give them a call and see what they know about your situation. (800) 347-1200.

So as I’m about to punch the place order button I notice 20% has not been applied. I cleared my cart and send a message to C/S to see if there’s a coupon code to enter...crickets. I get home and with a little judicious use of my heat gun and pliers, I get my current 6378 for a G17/G22 with light to work. The gun locks in as it should but I do have about 3/16” of the comp sticking out of the bottom. I’m satisfied. I have a working holster and saved about $70 in the process. If this was for...
