Pen review from my quest for the perfect EDC pen..

green_vaccine ·
Preface: So after being unemployed briefly a few years ago (after the DOI decided to cancel my LMR project) with time on my hands I started researching the crap out of all the gear I wanted, then after securing gainful employment decided that since I was making decent money again I would only buy the best of something, at least the best that I could afford. I've spent too many nights in the backcountry cold and wet because the cheap Army surplus or Coleman gear I bought failed me. I would...

Love the feel of my SureFire pen, but as smooth as the Schmidt refills are for a ballpoint, ballpoints are themselves garbage. (Fountain pens are my new obsession.)

Do you spend a fair amount of time in a vehicle where the seatbelt may be causing friction?

If it was rubbing bad enough to make a hole over time, how bad were you printing? Have you noticed any difference in your weapon printing after you have applied this "mod"? I would think you would notice a slight reduction. Dave

Didn't seem to be that bad in a mirror. It's a Glock 19 in an eidolon and I don't have a gut pushing the pistol out. It does seem to print slightly less, but, not that much to begin with.

It has been a while since someone here got a karma title. Clearly, Dak likes black or preferably a slightly darker black georgia boy.

I've done the same thing with my pants to avoid holster wear and smooth out potential printing. I started with white patching material, but once you go black, you never go back.
