Glock 43

So I just saw a pic on bookface for a 2015 Spring release of the Glock 43 Single Stack 9mm. Anybody know if there is truth to this?

I did a search and didnt see if anybody posted already.

There is a discussion going on about this on Sig Forum.  Until I see it, I am skeptical. They're obviously announcing something with the pictures and the hints, but none of us saw a 6' 10mm on the way before SHOT.

I am skeptical yet optimistic. I don't understand why they feel the need to be so cryptic. People are going to buy it or not, regardless if you wait a week to announce

This a is a blog/podcast I follow regularly. Ran by some uspsa/idpa shooters who have some common damn sense about it, and apparently a working knowledge of photoshop. They're calling this ad a fake, after the legit ad for the slide and "this spring" put out by Glock.

The prevailing train of thought is that it's very possible glock is releasing their single stack 9 at the NRA show. Or from what we know of glock it could be an optic ready .25 caliber pocket pistol....

None of us saw a 6 foot 10mm there either, but we did see a 6 inch one..

I spoke with a large supplier of Glocks for LE at the Wisconsin Associate of SWAT Personnel conference and was told it's legit and should be out to dealers around the end of March.

Single stack "pocket" 9mm Glock? I am in. Hell, I was in when the G42 nobody asked for was released.

All I gotta say is this better not be any Mickey Mouse shit like a double stack .380...an optics-ready .380...a ported .380...or a single stack subcompact .357 SIG or .45 GAP.

Knowing Glock, they'll come up with a break-action .44 Magnum single shot before they make something people have been asking for this entire century.

Glock marketing does weird shit.     I have been wanting a glock SS 9MM for a while. But I don't have faith they will come out with one. If they do I probably won't buy one in the first 6 months. QC has been seriously lacking in first releases Issues the the Gen 4 G-22's and the G-42 just reinforce my opinions.

I fully expect them to announce a long slide 5.7 in hot pink kryptec camo.

I also read the photo in question was photoshopped and admittedly so by the maker.

I do hope the G43 itself is real. GLOCK is supposed to announce a new product on Friday 03-20-2015 at 1200 and 1800 EST.

The scuttlebutt at SHOT when Glock released the G42 was that they already had a 9mm design, but they were going to sell a bunch of .380's for awhile before they released the 9mm, and sold that too.  If they had released the 9 at the same time as the .380, they would have hurt each other's sales.  The first flush is over and we don't have a problem getting G42's or keeping them in stock.  Assuming the G43 is real and it is a slightly enlarged G42, it will also sell like hotcakes.  Like the Sig P238 and 938.  There was a rush when the 938 first came out, now it is just a matter of whether the buyer wants a lower recoil .380, or a more powerful 9mm.

I can understand why they did what they did. With the perplexing recent popularity of 380's and the long time desire for a single stack 9 its just smart to come out with 380 first, make money, then the 9 after. I think once this finally does hit the market it will make the 380 obsolete. Between that and the mp shield it will provide choices for the plastic gun owners

Ya know...that's almost Karma Title worthy material right there...in both counts.

I'd actually buy a single stack subcompact .357 Sig. While I'm sure it wouldn't be a lot of fun to shoot, it would fill a need. I wear shorts and t shirts a lot around the house and right now, it's a Shield in a pocket holster. I'd definitely try a single stack subcompact 9mm Glock, especially if it's thinner than the Shield.

I last went to Glock armorer in 2011, and the instructor said they had a single stack 9mm design that was at the prototype stage then.  He obviously didn't have pictures or anything, but it's as close to official confirmation as I've ever heard.

"Hold my beer and watch this"

I have glock armorer recert in a few weeks. Needless to say if it does drop I will be interrogating him into getting me on the list for the first batch

And everyone that got the .380 is thinking...

... I came about 1mm from getting a Shield a few months back, but with the .380 coming out, I figured that Glock was just effin' around and that the 9mm that it should have been to start with was coming shortly.

I dunno...I'm more partial to the G26 with G19 mags as a reload.

I appreciate the thin profile however, for my purposes the G26 is not over-ally thick with the correct IWB holster and I like the parts interchangeability of the G26 with other full size models. (small parts, mags, sights etc)

But, that being said, Ill probably buy one to try out..

Even with the 9mm single stack they will still be selling plenty of .380's.

I am probably wrong here but I think the popularity of the 9mm S&W Shield got their attention.

The Shield has been an entry drug into the M&P system (along with the new .22 lr. compact) and Glock realized that people might be going to the M&P after trying the Shield plus the fact that S&W has been selling a lot of them and making lots of money.

Glock can probably fill lots of law enforcement orders for these, especially as a off duty piece for those who really don't want to carry a gun but have to qualify and carry.

I will be interested to see how compact it really is.

S&W noted that Glock was refusing to fulfill a market demand and has been eating Glock's lunch for years.  Good for them too, because the Shield is a good piece and Glock obviously didn't care.

As for compact, if it's a G43 in ".380 magnum," then it'll be GTG.  If it's much bigger, then the G26 isn't that much larger really.

Meh, we're talking over a decade of disappointment here. I refuse to get excited until shown something worth getting excited about. You wait...you'll get your single stack 9mm, but its a G36 frame or some nonsense.

LOL maybe I'm right about a G36 size single stack 9mm.

Unless they accomplished some major engineering feat, which...come on...It's Glock we are talking about. Then this is going to be larger than what most want, myself included.

Sneaky SF Dude: "These Iraqis have one thing going for them, if they had to be conquered, and they did, they couldn't have been conquered by a nicer bunch of guys.

Right now, the speculation potential is all over the board.  Glock could be making a G19 (but thinner) gun for those who want a medium sized 9mm, but want it thin, reduced grip diameter, more concealable.  Glock could be semi-staggering the magazine similar to the way S&W does the Shield magazines.  Frankly, I don't understand the delineation between "semi-staggered" and "staggered".  With a polymer frame, they could come up with a thin, fairly compact 10rd 9mm.  Assuming that is what they did, it makes sense.  Something like the large Kahr.  It could be attractive to women and those with small hands who want a compact self-defense gun that 1) they can hold comfortably with all fingers on the grip, 2)  reasonably conceal if they want to, and 3) max mag capacity for those states that restrict capacity to 10 rds.

I never liked the G26 or G27.  They are short and fat.  The only advantage they had was the ability to use the larger G19 and G17 mags.  This could be going for the 10rd max mag capacity in a thin package.

I don't see it as a gun for the CA market since they now require micro-stamping.  I could be wrong.  There is also the potential that the ad for a 10-rd G43 mag was a mistake...or a prank.

I must be the only man in the world who has no desire for anything thinner than a G19/G26.  To me, thickness has never been an issue with those guns.

Size Queen...

I EDC a Kahr CW9 into non permisive environments (rabidly anti gun family memebrs homes and the like) that has been extensively reworked to debure and smooth everything and I would love a Glock (ok one from a dozen or so years ago when end users weren't the Beta testers/QC people) in 9mm that I can wear with swim trunks or soccer shorts that I am unable to do with my G19.
