UA Infil GTX Boots

I may,  hopefully, be employed in a job that will require me to once again wear black boots in the winter time so I'm planning ahead.  I'm not a boots guy and prefer athletic shoes but when it's cold and wet I need something that feels as close to shoes as possible (I know I'm preaching to the choir).  I have nothing but satisfaction with UA Speedfreaks but I discovered the new UA Infil GTX and leaning hard that way.  They're expensive for me right now but I can $30- off.   Anyone have these yet?

Even with $30 off, that price seems really high for a lightweight boot that probably can't be resoled.  The reviews do not seem that good either.

Danner makes a couple of waterproof, black, high top boots under $160.  Bates, Salomon, Magnum also make boots in the same range that are waterproof.

If your job doesn't take hold until Spring, look at t he Belleville Kyhber TR966.

I noticed that most of the criticisms are that the boots are too narrow but I have very narrow feet and my biggest problem with boots are my feet sliding around in them. So that is a big selling point with me. The cost is a concern.

I hope this post doesn't mush like vaporware, but Danner has a new boot coming out in July called the Dromos.

The boot is lighter than they Striker/Lookout style, but more rugged than their ultra lightweight Tachyon's. Retail will be about $140, street price a little less than that. What was neat about it is it uses laser cut full grain leather so there aren't tons of pieces stitched together, but its not all cloth and mesh like other lightweight boots. I saw it for the first time today and was really impressed - that doesn't usually happen when a rep shows me a new boot. Its not just another high top sneaker, or another 'cop' boot. It actually looks like something new, and that is refreshing.

Something to keep an eye out for if you have a little bit of time. I'll try and get a photo since I can't find any online yet.

Found a pic of the Dromos - taken at SHOT. Not a great photo, but you can see the welded construction instead of traditional stitching. Light but strong.
