Running generally means “making chips” or eliminating all the metal from a blank that is not part of the final or near final configuration of the piece being made.
Now there has been a time or two over the years where I have needed looking after post surgery, post stroke, etc. But it was not a 24/7 proposition.
Many CNC machines have the ability to run “lights out” meaning no one in attendance of the machine.
Once a day or so someone shows up and reloads blanks into whatever palletizing system you employ to keep the machine running lights out.
This should never have happened.
