Well, my experience with them, when Remi bought out Para, was that they sucked up any and all technical knowledge from the acquired brand, and then shut it down.  That's just been their MO.

I was not impressed by upper management; they seemed like corporate types more concerned with their careers and making money, and didn't have time to listen to any blue collar types.  In other words, business as usual.  They were repeatedly told a certain pistol was not ready for public launch, yet they had 10K pre-orders and went ahead with it anyway.   And when it shit the bed, they refused to accept blame for their shitty engineering and blamed the workers for faulty assembly.

The fact that these brands were shit-canned comes as no surprised, based on the above.  Add in political dimensions, sales, and what-not and you have the perfect storm.  These brands were acquired cheaply to assimilate their knowledge of weapons types.  When the brand became a liability, they were tossed out.

Now the funny things.  First, Para was a funny little company that in reality had no "secret sauce" worth the buy out price.  You would have been better off to attend a good gunsmithing course on the 1911 and come up with your own designs.  The second is Remi was caught leaning the wrong way; after spending a lot of time and money acquiring this "tactical" mfg's, they now can't get rid of them fast enough.

And what do you want to bet, the same geniuses that set about this COA, and now reversing course as rapidly as possible, are getting big bonuses and promotions for their new foresight.
