Mayflower LPAC and Point Blank concealment cut plates

SoTex ·
Need an external carrier that takes issued concealment cut armor (Point blank alpha elite)and can add plates. Swift clips is a plus over molle everything. Mayflower LPAC seems perfect, can't tell if I can get my issued armor in it or not, appears some do and some don't. Anyone have experience with this actual combo or maybe want to recommend another combo? Have a call into Mayflower to find out buy no joy yet.

Can I fit large Plates into a S/M Mayflower APC?

Eagle46 ·
Gents- I've turned in my medium ESAPIs and now have a line on a pair of large LVL IV SAPI sized plates to back fill my now floppy PC. The question is, my PC is a medium Mayflower APC, which not surprisingly is made for small and medium plates. Does anyone know if you can fit large plates into this medium PC? Looking at my PC, my concern is at the plate shoulders - I have enough width and height/length to slide them in, but the APC slopes in at the top, possibly for swimmer's cut. I had a...

Which plate carrier for me??

Feardo37 ·
Hey man I need a plate carrier and I need some recommendations. My budget is around 300 but I could go up if the upgrade is worth it. I shoot real steal and also play Airsoft When playing Airsoft I do milsim events as well as regular skirmishes. Milsim events are at least a day long. I need something comfortable enough to Wear for day(s) but also slim enough to play in only 30-40 minute games as well. I need MOLLE on the admin area for tactical universal clip. Modularity would also be very...

If you are not going to use real plates, get a couple sheets of thick kydex, cut to fit and back with a good couple of layers of foam sleeping mat for bulk to make the thickness. This will provide the support normally provided by a real plate

The topic of air soft has been covered by others so I will not dwell on it. You will find that what you are doing with your games is not 180 degrees different from what we do for real; from a gear comfort and utilization standpoint. The recommendations on LF for PC and related equipment will reflect a balance of value, comfort, design execution, usability, modularity, and task suitability, but maybe not in that order. There are numerous reviews of each of PCs you mentioned tucked away around...

That pretty much covers it. I would only add that a Tubes mod is usually possible for just about any PC, especially if you use the Crye skeletonized CB. If Runningwolf cares to chime in, I did his mod and he really likes it. I roll with a JPC 2.0 w/ Tubes mod and really like it.

Yea so my carrier started out as a Mayflower APC but after some mad scientist (Dr Diz) got ahold of it it’s some kinda APC/JPC/FS franken carrier and I’m loving this thing. Tubes on the cummerbund and left should strap makes this thing a breeze to get on and off and the tubes don’t get caked up with sand like the buckles on the IOTV and require a whole squad to get off. Tubes are definitely the way to go.

Ha, yeah man and I forgot about those zip panels we added last time so that thing is a JPC in everything but name only. Runningwolf has the most shit-hot set up I've seen. Including DAR-C drag handle (which he has posted on, check out archives).

The DARC strap is fairly basic, they got some dudes I’ve trained with that had loops with cobra buckles sew up and put on there belts along with the other end of the buckle sewn into the strap on the plate carrier, that was pretty neat to see, then Spiritus Systems is making a DARC strap now.

If you're 100% dead set on the tubes, just buy an STT or Strandhogg. With the cost of the retrofit cummerbund added to the base cost of a normal carrier you might as well have just bought the Strandhogg to begin with. The LBT and Mayflower rigs are pretty similar, with a few pros and cons to each. Mayflower APC PROS: slightly lighter iirc, slightly slimmer shoulder pads, integrated admin pouch, spacer mesh when ordering from optactical, rear plate bag is SAPI cut, takes swift clips if that...

Well, here's a couple of pics to show you one way of doing it. Here you can see the "water knot" up top, just peaking out enough to grab. The 'biner is usually rigged on the PC until needed. Here you can see how the line is threaded down through the back (it's actually woven into the molle webbing) and handle "S" folded up top. When fully deployed, the handle is long enough to support the head/neck, and allow two guys to drag. The 'biner attaches to the riggers belt, so you are pulling from...

I will have a tubes cummberbund conversion kit out for the JPC and AVS in a month or so. It's currently being tested but so far, the feedback has been good.

I love the tubes on my Strandhogg but I'm hoping for a more cost effective solution then the current Raine Bridger to make up for the lost space the tubes take up. It's very minimal, but based on my role (LEO) I could certainly put some small items there (like my OC spray, a TQ, etc) that are currently elsewhere on my vest.

For some reason, I feel obligated to warn you: This site is generally not the place to post you airsoft questions, although there are members here who participate and they may reach out to you. Generally speaking, it is best to spend your first few months (or years) here reading through the various topics and enlightening yourself on not only the format, but the content before posting; unless the topic is very specific and you can provide the relevant parameters. "Plate carriers and armor"...

Thanks for being up front about what your intended use is. If you’re not planning on running with actual armor (hard plates and/or Kevlar backers) then any of your choices will be plenty comfortable for your needs. Be aware that PC’s without armor lack some rigidity and support, you’ll find out quickly how unbalanced the weight distribution is. If you’re dead set on the FS tubes, check out the SKD/First Spear STT collaboration for a PC.

Not hating on airsoft, I played a lot of both airsoft and paintball before I enlisted and I use airsoft as a training aid for my guys but as previously mentioned understand that it's not really the target audience of this forum so you might catch some flak from time to time. Some people look down on it but I've gotten some really good training from it so rock on. That being said I vote for the JPC 2.0 or even a JPC 1.0. You can't beat their simplicity, quality and value and after wearing one...

I recall Mayflower doing custom LPAAC in the past. Beeze Combat Systems does similiar custom work and has been positively reviewed here in the past.

It has been a while since I had an APC, but I am pretty sure your S/M will not fit size large plates, especially if they are thick Level IV plates.

I have a S/M APC which I've used with medium plates (USGI ESAPI) extensively. The mediums are pretty tight so I doubt you could fit large plates.

My larges were a tight fit, I also had to split the corners and add material for a square back plate.

A decent deal but not enough to pay for a new PC. I actually had a lot of room with my medium ESAPIs, thus my question. I made an 1" thick cardboard template that fits width, and fits height overall, but I don't know where to cut the shoulders on my template so I don't know if it really will fit in there. Anyone have a plate they can trace, or give me the measurements at the top and sides of a large plate so I can locate the plate shoulders? If not, I'll just pass on these plates and order...
