I have a Colt standard pin lower with the screw type take down pin. Is there anything that is like the standard pin for these without the detent? Thanks

friend with a sear blocked, screw type Colt H-bar had it sent to Adco for removal of the block and drilling of the lower for a detent pivot pin retainer. It looked and performs perfectly.

What did this cost?
Semper Scrotum- Always on the ball
I don't know if all the Colts are like this but the ones I have been around had the proper hole drilled for the detent spring already- it was just a matter of throwing away the screw type pin and replacing it with the detent style. No machining needed. Good luck!
Sorry to get back to you so late but, unfortunately my buddy does not recall what he paid for the service as he also tacked on a couple of other items to his bill but I know I saw the pricing on both Adcos and SAW's website under gunsmith services or something like that. Hope this helps...

Spscetaco,

If condition is excellent to like new, that is an ok deal. There is nothing wrong with the screen type. As I noted back in 2008 above, you may be able to seal the screw type for the spring detent type easily.

As far as I can tell, that carbine configuration dates to about 2005ish.

Most of my ARs are down with my folks due to my indigenous issue going on.
