I know most will read the topic and immediately have negative thoughts. Forget about the Serpa for a few minutes and continue to read my ramblings.
A few months ago I first heard about a new holster that was going to change thoughts and would be available for the STI Staccato P pistol. It wasn’t Safariland and at first I dismissed it.
After SHOT pictures and positive comments started coming out from people I respect and consider to know. The pictures really didn’t sell me on it the comments did.
I wanted to wait for the STI version because that’s what I carry on duty. I was also waiting for the optic version as well. I can’t wait very well and decided to just buy one to see what all the fuss was about.
Currently as of last week they have levels 2 and 3. For the Glock 17/22 and Sig 320. The only lights they support at the moment are from Streamlight.
The only non optic striker fired gun I have at the moment is a tired old gen 3 Glock 22. I also had a Streamlight TLR-H1. My Sig has a RMR Ron it so the decision was fairy easy. Plus ordering direct from Blackhawk allowed me free shipping and a 30 day period where I can ship it back for a refund. I’m not shipping this back. May sell it to fund a optic version in the future but not disappointed with the holster.
The holster arrived the same week I ordered it. Very sturdy and appropriate for Patrol. The pistol fits in the holster positively and no slop or wiggle. Still can be used in one hand manipulation.
Had some of the big DT guys try to yank it off my belt and the only thing that they accomplished was pulling me around. I wanted to see how it would handle some of the riggers of Patrol work.
Right now it is not compatible with the QLS system but I have an adapter in the mail and should be here tomorrow. It may not be a solution.
Available cant out of the box.
This is the first Blackhawk holster I would voluntarily wear on duty. I will have more information after this weekend.
