I want to build a 21st century Commander variant of the Glock> Full size frame with a compact slide. The final product will feature a ATEI milled RMR slide and threaded G 19 KKM barrel. I will then cut the G17 dust cover/light rail shorter to match the shorter G19 slide. This will mean overall length will end up at approx G17, but with a threaded barrel that will still fit in a G17 holster. Sight radius is not a problem because of the RMR. I can electively put on a KKM comp, ala Roland Special or suppress this with less overall length penalty.
Here is the thing: I *suspect* that this will all work if I swap a G19 locking block into the G17 frame. I even think I remember doing this years ago on a whim. But I do not have notes. I know that the G19 slide will not work with the G17 locking block.
So the question for one of you out there with these parts is: Will the G19 locking block fit correctly in the G17 frame?
