While I wait for DJ's Folder of Awesomeness, I updated my Nealy and I gotta tell you, I LOVE this thing.  The original came with rubber grips. Over the years, the rubber has become very hard and it is tough to get a dry grip.  Not a good thing.

So while I STILL wait for my Colt 10mm, I had Greg from JOJOs put his Godzilla pistol and revolver grips on the knife.  In addition, he cleaned it up.  I had it professionally sharpened a few months ago.  You really have to hold it in your hands to appreciate the difference but trust me, it is a huge improvement.

Makes a nice set.

Very nice, I dig the fishscale texture. On a guardless knife it's nice to have scales that are grippy.

Those are actually four rare earth magnets.  They were standard with the kydex carry system made by Nealy that comes with the knife.  They are shot now but when they were new they would hold the blade on their own if you took it out of the sheath part way and let it hang.

Hi Counselor,

I have an old Nealy Pesh Kabz with polished and pinned Micarta grips that I ordered before I knew better.  They are too slippery for serious work.

Do these new grips go over the old ones or did Jojo's remove the original set?

I would love to update the knife and get some use out of it.

Thanks,

Tony

You SUCK and my wife now officially HATES you.  I actually HAVE a Bud Nealy and those grips would be SWEET.  And MY magnets still work.

Going to look into this.

John.....all kidding aside, since I just found out that I probably will be getting a Nealy 3.5" Tanto (Aikuchi?), albeit, not the Damascus, for Christmas.  I really would like a set of those grips on it, once I get it.  What's the process?  Do I need to send the knife in?  Are the grips Pinned in, or are those screws that I'm just not seeing correctly?  Did your knife originally have the stainless steel bolster near the blade that also had to be removed?  Any information to get me pointed in the right direction would be much appreciated.

No problem brother.  My knife did not have the bolster.  The grips are pinned on.

Greg, at JOJOs, is their jack of all trades guy but the only one who makes the grips.  The only things that do not have to be sent in are 1911s.  The few other guns he makes grips for and all knives have to be sent in to be properly fitted.

Let me check Greg's work load and I will set you up.

Awesome....NO rush, I don't even have it yet, and depending on how things work between me and HH6, it's either a birthday present, or Christmas (birthday is just around the corner).  So PROBABLY some time after the first of the year.
