Yeah, I'll have to BUG him till he makes me a mini P-Fighter folder. Confused You know one thing about Tom is that he listens to his customers and their wants.

I kinda like the his knife with the 360 front end with the P-fighter handle too. Guess I will have to wait out the backlog, which is OK with me.
Good deal Tom I am glad to hear that you are up and running again and everything went well with your new shop. Now the countdown begins for awesomeness....

Yo smartass ... thanks for the tip. I just can't decide which one I want (first). What was that one Tom made you last. It was a sweet pig sticker. And come to think of it... you failed to show me the damn thing yet. You're dead to me...

Unfortunately I have not had a chance to chop any trees or pigs or foreign invaders with it, but it sure seems like it would be up to the job. The little one has seen some use, though... The thing that really strikes me about Tom's knives is how natural they feel in your hand. Big or little, they just seem to fit.

I wish I'd have had one back in the olden days when I was guiding elk hunts!

FOR TEXAS!

Tom's knives have a great feel in the hand with a great balance of both secure and comfortable.

RE: HATS

minimum order for me is 48 pieces. I would prefer to have the majority of those spoken for when I place the order.

For those that have seen ATACS in person, which would you rather have, the original or FG?

Please keep responses in PM's

hey Tom, I've looking at the above knife for a couple months now. I really like the design of it functionally. What's your lead time looking like these days? Mainly I'm asking if it's still the same as what's on your website. If it's still that far out I'll have to wait until I get back from basic.
I am leaning towards the green, strictly based on my fashion sense Big Grin

Semper 360.... Good advice no matter who you are

I am happy with the logo which is now the way Brother Duke originally intended it to be; what can I say, I am slow....

Damn Tom both of those hats look awesome! I am partial to the tan hat, but the green looks good also. I guess after I get finished with the move I am going to have to send you another order for a hat soon. I am going to e-mail you in a few, but the green backs are in the mail for the Seax and Sheaths. I can't wait to test her out and show her off on here.

Here is a prototype of an updated pikal style blade. Someone dropped by one day, who is a fan of this style and played with my original knife and gave me some ideas.

I am not one to take just any ideas, but when I agree with them I don't hesitate to incorporate change. The ideas this guys gave me were winners.

As compared to the original knives, this is 1/8" thick compared to 3/16"; the handle is about 3/4" shorter and a fair bit wider, with thicker G10 than I normally do on this. Also grooves near the butt to help with traction, plus I think they look cool.

I have been carrying it at work for a couple weeks and beating on it around the homestead.

It conceals better than the original, as well as the 360 and Seax I carry. At work I use an external vest carrier and I carry IWB appendix under the vest. I have had issues at times with handles poking out from under; this knife does not do that.

The high flat grind combined with the thin blade stock and the straight edge make this a scary slicer. it scares me anyway.

a conventionally shaped blade will tend to ride out of a cut as it hits the curved belly. A straight edge will tend to pull itself into the cut. trust me dont try it out...

I did not do a sharpened clip on this one because I wanted to try a high thin grind. The next one I do will have double edges which means the primary grind wont go as high as if I do a single edge.

anyway that is just a little insight on my thought processes on design and function.

I know reverse grip edge in is not everyones cup of tea, but it is a devastating style; check out shivworks dvds.

I carry a knife with mainly weapon retention in mind, and I cant think of a better blade for that strict role.

Its been a while since I got excited about a knife...

At some point here I will set up a video camera and test some different blades on a bone in pork

I'm really digging your Pikal prototype!

I've been looking at changing up the knife(s) I carry on duty and now I am really leaning towards one of these.

I don't see a price listed for the Pikal on your website, do you have an idea what you will be charging for these? Thanks!

Tom,
I sent that guy your way, and heard that things worked out, but we have both been to busy too get back together to hear what you guys cooked up. I am glad to hear that it worked out and you are pleased. Any chance of getting those gripping grooves incorporated on an existing order? Like him I am a big fan of them.

Tom,

I want one, any idea when you will be making these for the masses?

Fair enough brother, put me on the list and when you get to it down the road let me know!

Be safe and thank you,
