H&K VP9 (Striker Fired)

Well, it's cheaper than buying a 15 rounder and getting a TF extension. Hopefully it'll work with my HKParts EDC Magwell. The bottom is just a plastic cover for the metal tube, so I could see making a couple of 170mm-esque mags for USPSA down the line once the proper springs come out for them.

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Dammit, Default....(sighs) [takes out wallet]

"Pain, we endure...faulty weaponry, we do not."

Just ordered my first VP9, a FDE VP9 LE with night sights. Should be here next week.

"I'm proud of you fellas. You all kept you're head on a swivel, that's what ya' gotta do when you find yourself in a vicious cockfight!"

So, I went out and put 300 rounds through my new VP9 yesterday, sort of hoping I wouldnt like it. First off, I'm low speed, and not a super accomplished pistol shooter. First mag I struggled. Figured out the trigger, and then proceeded to not miss any shots to a 3x5 headbox or a-zone out to 10 meters, and missed no shots into the A zone from 25. I've not done that before with any of my striker fired handguns, only my 1911. I'm afraid I have to keep it. Just wish the mags and support gear wasn't so expensive.

I’ve had my VP9 for about four years now.  I was hitting Pepper Poppers standing unsupported with it at 100 yards a couple years ago while teaching a carbine class.  That inspired the students.    The last two years I’ve shot several IDPA and three gun matches with it.  I hit better with it than with my 1911s.  That hurt to write...

I can’t remember a legit malfunction.   The HK magazines are expensive but built like a tank. I have a X Tech 20 rounder with @100 rounds thru it without a bobble and a second one delivered today.

I’ve shot a lot of different pistols in my 60 years but the VP9 is in the top 5 for user friendly.

I love my VP9. Ive had it since they first dropped. So that would make it 2013? I have approximately 50,000 rounds through it, and finally sending it in for a complete overhaul. New springs and a real deal cleaning. Thing runs like a raped ape. My only complaint and it’s really on me, is it doesn’t go to slide lock on the final round, because my hand is resting on the slide release.

It is my first choice for LEOSA qualifications-I tell the scorer that it is  like I am cheating.  So why do I usually carry my Glock?

I'm still carrying my M&P compact or my shield, but to say I was impressed is an understatement. I'll probably shoot it some more today. I may have to fire up my dillon 550 and see how reloads run through it.

Been a while since I've posted.  Took a Glock 48 out after installing  Ameriglo Agents.  Didn't shoot it well the first time (thought maybe it was the sights so I drifted them a little more) and I brought my VP9SK along with to see if it was more me or the gun - I shoot the SK well.  Not sure what it is about the 48, but I still can't shoot it for crap.  Couldn't really get a decent group and my hand was hurting, which led me to believe it's something with the grip dimensions and my trigger pull style.  The  SK, on the other hand, had a nice 10 shot group all in the 10 ring on a small silhouette at about 8 yards.  I forgot how much I love the trigger on it - probably the best striker trigger I've tried yet.
