HK Goodness

Okay HK fans, anyone want this?

The target, not the toolbox.

I am a cheapskate, so often pick up spare targets at the end of a training day. Moving things around, I rifled through that pile and have one of these HK ITD targets (Target No HK 2). If anyone thinks it would dress up the back of your arms room/man cave, someone raise your hand. I'll toss it in a tube and send it out.

If worthless, do tell and I'll put holes in it sometime.

And if you should find a third one I’m down with that. My garage is asking for one. So’s my billiard room.

Okay, so they are weird and rare to some degree. Glad I didn't just toss it then.

No, only have one (so far?) in my pile of random targets. To my total lack of surprise, CONSIGLIERE raised his hand first, so PM me with address info and I'll eventually put it into something and mail it out.

Last week, I finally got to shoot the MK23.  It's been in my gear locker for the past three years, sitting alone without any magazines to keep it company.  One of our guys is on light duty at the range and saw it just sitting there.  Turns out, he's got mags, but no MK23!

So, we assigned him the gun which he plans on carrying on duty.  I told him I want pics of him in uniform with that monstrosity strapped to his side.  I only shot a couple of mags, but it ran flawlessly.  An absolute tack driver that has the recoil of my Glock 17, in no part due to the stupidity of the size of this thing.  The double action pull was horrible, with the trigger break well past where it should be.  I can't imagine actually carrying it that that, let alone with gloves on.

Where the gun shines is in single action.  It's a pivoting trigger like most guns other than a 1911, and has a nice, smooth pull with a clean break.

I also have a better profile pic, but can't figure out how to crop it.

Okay, lots of guns seem big, or small, but they generally all look kinda like black-Ls in the hand, being shot.

Nope, that's visibly a big gun. Crazy stuff.

Not heavy enough. Got to get the issued LAM for it too!
