Always bought Champion brand white socks but their quality has seemed to have degraded. Who sells an extra thick sock with decent longevity?

ETA: looking for crew length

Thorlo was my go-to sock for many many years.  I still have a couple pairs.

Please note: not an aspiring inner city "yout" trying to turn my life around...  one "g" two "oo's" like NPH's 80's era TV show.

If you have to ask your buddy if you are on fire, you are four to five seconds behind the "stop, drop and roll" power curve.

Stance socks are not cheap, but I am a big fan. Even though I use Darn Tough for cold weather, Stance have been my go-to for normal daily wear. Some of their designs are crazy, but they do have basic white.

I'm very happy with these.

Although not on the extra thick category these are about the same thickness as Champion ones I've had:

https://www.goldtoe.com/power-...thletic-sock-3-pair/

I've only used these in black but they have been my go to for a couple years. Wear well, stay up, and not extremely hot in TX  summers.

Gold Toe/Powersock also makes another one I can't find on their site that is about double the thickness of the linked ones, but I've only seen them in black/gray and at Kohls.

Note: I still have issues from multiple Mortons Neuroma surgeries with anything that is slightly tight on my forefoot.  These Powersocks don't cause the "freaking out" that some socks do.  Best of course are asymmetrical socks but they are expensive and harder to find.

I have a few dozen pairs of Thorlo socks, most of them have seen regular use for a decade... they are all going strong with not even a single hole. They weren't cheap but well worth it and by far the most comfortable socks I've ever worn.

White socks??? People still wear those?

I haven’t had white socks or chonies in oh, 15 years.  Everything is black or grey for me. Almost exclusively Costco’s store brand wool crew length. I tried the Goldtoe from Kohl’s but they never retained their shape for me.

COSTCO used to carry these and they were my go to for a long time.  IIRC also supposed to have anti stink stuff in them.

Wigwam makes a pretty nice white sock called the “king cotton” with a padded foot.

I’ve been thinking of getting a pack for wearing around the house.

Lots of good suggestions, thanks. Probably buy one of each and see which one(s) to get quantity of.

I've been wearing  Cabelas lightweight merino wool socks with work boots for 10 years now.  They're  a 4 pack and usually in a bin in the middle of the aisle.   They also make a medium weight.  Some of my socks are probably over 7 yrs old and are getting quite thin.  Somewhere I read to turn them inside out when washing to help keep them "fluffy".  Maybe that's part of the reason they've lasted so long.

...dayum..affirmative action even got your socks....lol ever since I retired from the Army now that I think about it, I stopped buying white socks...still got those thorlos and wigwams though...

I was just thinking about the super thick "white-ish" cold weather boot socks they used to sell at Clothing Sales at Fort Wainright years ago -pre ECWCS and pre MOLLE.... they had to be 1/2" thick...wore them in bunny boots

Picked up some Dickies, Carhartt and Thorlo (damn they're spendy) this weekend. We'll see how they wear.
