A young KLR_Redux is planning a post active duty career In federal LE, but has a backup plan of law school just in case. Figuring that he would be a poor grad student, he purchases an RCBS Rock Chucker.
Okay- enough third person. Back in 98 I loaded up 200 rounds of 9mm as my first foray into reloading. I fired the first hundred through my gaudy as heck Beretta 92 in Inox and put the other hundred aside until today.
Split the ammo between my unfired VP-9 and my unfired APX full-size. Ammo performed beautifully in both pistols. Interestingly, I had a decent volume of unburned powder in the VP-9 and practically none in the APX.
I like both guns - each was purchased using a discount program (HK Armorer/Beretta LEO). Both had a TLR-1 installed which soaked up any muzzle flip. I shot the HK slightly better- both had tight groups but the APX shot a bit left until I fixed my finger position on the trigger. I prefer the standard magazine release to the HK paddle. Recoil was more noticeable for the APX but not a big deal.
Looks like I may be breaking my components out again soon and getting back into reloading.
