I got issued stand alone plates and I'm looking to get a new plate carrier to wear at least part of the time. My load is pretty light. 1 maybe 2 radios occasionally, 1 or 2 rifle mags, gerber, pry bar, cell phone, drag strap. It would be nice to have scale able options for mission change, since that happens. Currently using the FS Siege R Optimized which I like but its a soft armor carrier and takes up a little too much space than I prefer. I'm mostly settled on the VS Scarab LT/LE combo with soft armor on the sides. I've also been looking at the LBT Gen III https://soldiersystems.net/201...dular-plate-carrier/

and the JPC 2.

That is getting released soon. Any reason to wait or go with something else before I pull the trigger on the VS.

This is for LE work

Not LEO, but a BFG 10-speed or three have great utility for mission changes, with minimal weight and bulk.  Easily conform from a licky and chewy pocket to holding 30-rd rifle mags.

I have the VS Scarab set up that you are considering and sound like I use it in a similar LE role.  I love mine!  Its super flexible.  10 speed pouches on the sides increase flexibility and lay flat if there's noting being carried there.  Buy with confidence.

They are both great carriers.  I tried the FS and found the VS to be a little more comfortable.  It has to do with the way the shoulder straps are anchored to the carrier.  The VS straps articulate better.

I ended up getting the VS Scarab LT/LE combo. I love it.  The only complaint over First Spear is the FS shoulders were more comfortable. No big deal, I already had some shoulder pads I could throw on. Very happy with the Scarab and would recommend it.

I also use a VS Scarab for LEO work.  I work plain clothes with concealed soft armor. The PC rides on passenger seat. I used a lot of PCs and the VS rides well and I use the quarter flaps for easy on.
