It's an up-armored Deltapoint, so closer to the RMR in ruggedness I guess. Suppose to be the same footprint as the original Deltapoint. KevinB has stated he was going to be getting both the 2 and the Pro to T&E, and that they should have been announced during Warrior East, so I'm eagerly awaiting new information about them, as mounting those to a P30-type pistol would a lot simpler than the RMR.

Ah.  Cool, I hadn't heard about that.  Can't wait to see a review.  Thanks for the info.

Just installed RMR and Apex FSS kit on my S&W CORE 9. I've only had one range experience so far. The RMR or any red dot on a hand gun will take time and practice to get used to and so far I am still faster with iron sights but look forward to improving with the RMR and feel it is worthy and may merit installation on all my carry guns.

A side note: the Apex Forward Set Sear and Trigger Kit with poly trigger is the da bomb. I installed it in two M&Ps so far and am glad I did.

For those running an RDS and Grip Force adapter, how do you like it?  Finally got my  hands on a G17 Unity slide, threw on the RMR and hit the range.  Previously I felt the 17 pointed better with the addition of the Grip Force.  Now with the RMR, it feels like it's hampering my eyes naturally finding the dot.  Or it may just be the learning curve of transitioning to an RDS pistol. I've only had a chance to take it out once, the next time I'll remove the adapter and compare.  I'm hoping its just because it's a new concept but wanted to see whether others had similar experiences.

Just wanted to throw a plug out there for Mark Housel.

After reading this thread since the inception, and getting to try RMR equipped Glocks and M&Ps out, and getting an RMR06 out at a good price, I wanted to join the club.

I had intended on a G19, but I can't seem to shoot them well.  We carry M&P45s for work and I can shoot them measurably better - almost 1911 level.  So I sent my M&P45 slide to Mark.   His service was expiditious to say the least.  The work was done perfectly, at least to my eye.

At the range, all is well and is has been described.  Look for the front sight and dot will appear.  A little slower in close, but a lot more accuracy.  Easier for older eyes to see than front sight.

On "The Test" (10 rds, 10 yds, 10 sec on B8) I was consistently passing (all in the black) with 95-96 points.   I had been at .80-.90 seconds on 'ready-up' on index cards at 7 yards, and that is now .90-1.05 range consistently.   Slow fire 10 rd groups at 25 are in the 95+ range on a B8.    50 yard groups are in the "bullshit" range.

Next range session will be focusing on closer range drills where I am a little slower, but more accurate.

So, thanks LF and Mark Housel.  These RMR's might be like potato chips, can't stop after one.

Jay,

Your experience in dealing with Mark mirrors mine.  He did a great job on my G17 and RMR a couple of years ago.  It's still going strong.

I wish every business I dealt with was like his.

Stay safe

Mark,

I'm leaving mine on all the time on my 06.  I plan on changing out the battery once a year right along with my other RDSs on my carbines, and lights.

Please note, though, that I do not carry on a duty status, and I have other options available if I pick up my gun and the RDS is off.  From using the suppressor sights to just picking up a second gun with 10-8 sights mounted, I'm pretty much good to go should my RMR run out of juice before my planned battery swap.

I was under the impression that the DP Pro would have the same footprint as the original Deltapoints; is the dimension significantly different? Do you see the DP Pro being a viable alternative to the RMRs?

Left continually on, the RMR06 tends to run 2-3 years depending on how they are carried and how much light they are exposed to.  Turned off when not in use, I have yet to change a battery on one and we are past 3 years on several...

I’ve shot around 1500 rounds through mine in the last couple of weeks. Today I noticed the red dot didn’t seem as bright as it used to be. It used to be so bright I would have to turn it down. Now I’m having to turn it all the way up and it still doesn’t seem as bright as when it is was new. it is a RMR06.  I keep it off when not in use. Is this issue caused by a weak battery or is something else going on?

Also is there a duty holster out for a G19 with Red dot sight and suppressor sights?

Thanks

Never mind. I changed the battery out and it is working fine. That battery did not last long. Hoping it was a bad a battery.

It has peripheral applicability to this thread anyway, but I thought it was an interesting observation so I'll post it here.  I was on the Ultimak website looking at their mount for the M1 Carbine.  In their gallery, they had one with a Choate stock and an Aimpoint.  They remarked that had the M3 been around in WWII, it could have been turned on, and stayed on, the entire time we were in the war, Pearl Harbor to VJ day....on the original battery.

Duty Holsters are hard to find for red dot sight pistols, for me any way. I read some where earlier in this thread somebody had cut on a Safariland 6280 holster so their pistol would fit in it. I have a Glock19 with the suppressor sights w/RMR06 and I was unsure if this set up would work for my Pistol. While playing around in my junk bin I found an old 6280 Holster for a Glock. I decided to use it to experiment on. Here is the results :

The Finished Product after cutting on the holster:

I like this particular set up. I used an air dremel tool to cut the holster. It took all of about 5 minutes to do this. It was quick and easy and from what I can see it did not hurt the structural integrity of the Holster.

Doc,

I’ve looked at the Holsters you mentioned but my current department I’m associated with only allows black leather holsters in the hi gloss. I will call safariland and ask them if them holsters come  in hi gloss leather. Im currently looking at the Model 2 lvl 1 retention holster. Im thinking it might work without any modifications. I have a TLR-1 but i have seen no leather Hi gloss holsters so far that would work with a red dot sight Glock 19 with a TLR-1. Maybe Im not looking in the right spots though..

They let you carry a red dot equipped pistol on duty but require high gloss leather??? Mind BLOWN.

EastTXRedneck,

Have you found any suitable concealment holsters for that blaster? I'm setting up my ATOM-equipped G19 right now and I just realized that none of my favorite Milt Sparks will work with it...

Mick,

The only red dots I've seen on SIRT pistols were mounted using the dovetail adaptor.  It looks like you could mill it out though, at least a little bit to mount one.

Yep! As long as the pistol has not had the safety removed it is ok for duty use but it  better fit in a High gloss leather holster! LOL

I have a brother who is a leather smith. He has made me a couple of custom holsters. It took some trial and error and a lot of cussing and fussing with each other over personal taste, etc but the end result made me happy: This is the Cayman Gator Holster he made me for it;

Thanks, This is my Off Duty /CCW Rig. Not to derail the thread but if anybody needs a red dot holster like that made then PM me and I will see what we can do.  I know how frustrating it can be looking online for a holster to fit a Red dot Sight handgun.

Hello does anyone have experience with the UM3 tactical red dot mount.  I'm thinking of mounting this mount on a Glock 17L.  This is going to be used as a fun gun.
