Anyone familiar with these guys?  https://www.shotstop.net/rifle-plates/

I'm in the process of (once ... again ... sigh) trying to convince The People Who Know Better that our line officers need rifle-rated armor plates, and a coworker said I should check them out. Looking at the "Duritium III+GT" plate, it looks pretty decent ... multicurve, not overly heavy, not overly thick, rated to stop M855, M855A1, M80, 7.62x39 PS Ball and ... 5.56 62gr ball. Hmm. Not M193? Hmm.

I have an email in to them to ask for labs, and if M193 is not listed, I intend to ask why. In the meantime, is anyone familiar with this company and/or this product? And does anyone know why they would certify it against a 62gr threat but not against what seems to be the most common round for the AR-15?

Thanks,

Mike

According to one of their vendors,it's stops m193 as well. They have some videos testing the plate.

First I've heard of them but I'm in the market for a rifle rated trama plate for my daily Patrol vest, so if the testing is there and the price is right, I might be interested.

yeah, they say it stops M193, there's a video of him shooting the plate, it apparently stops it, but labs sure would be nice. I emailed them asking for labs, I got a lab for M855. They claim it stops more than that. I want to see those labs, too, and I want to know why they're testing it aganst 62gr FMJ and not the most common round available for the AR15. just seems goofy.

Another test showing the plate defeated m193, among others, including m855A1.  Looking pretty good.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but the price puts you right around what I paid for my AT Armor STOP plates.  I spent well over an hour via messenger with them and they were more than upfront about what their plates stopped and helped me decide what I wanted vs what I needed.
