To celebrate the frankenstinian creation of my first ever Gen 3 PVS-14 (canadian eh) I revisited one of my longest running gear frustrations.

A few years back I picked up a set of TCI Liberator II behind the head comms & earpro for a good deal. I was happy. Then I bought a baby's-first-Ops-Core. I expected them to work together. They didn't.

TCI had some less than ideal solutions. And after several months I pretty much gave up.

Having some proper NVGs and a reason to wear the helmet caused me to cycle back around. I wound up removing the side padding from the helmet, unscrewing the fitband and installing the liberators underneath the occ-dial. Now they actually stay on my ears, and the helmet actually stays on my head. They're about the farthest thing from QD, but that's okay by me.

No offense dude, but your head kind of looks like a basketball.  Have you considered...well....surgery?  It really detracts from the cool helmet.

That, good sir, is a Mikasa WATER POLO ball.  I haven't seen one of those since high school.  Would still suck for your head to be one, though.

Cool helmet, wish I could justify one right now.
