How does the Delta LT compare to the Naga Hoodie? (besides the obvious hoodie) I have a Naga full zip that I love, but I've been considering a 1/4 zip Delta LT. Are they different enough that it would be worth it or are they too similar?

Think of he delta more as a regular pull over/half zip deal. Think of the naga as a serious fleece insulation. PowerStretch is the warmest fleece I’ve found. It’s also more elastic and can be worn next to skin as a base layer. The delta is more of the wear over a T-shirt kind.

Thanks. I'm new debating between the Delta AR vs LT...

I am looking at an Atom LT. Warmth-wise does anyone know how it compares to the USMC Polartec 300 fleece?

I would be wearing it under a shell.

Under a shell? I'd say it's good down to about 20 degrees with low activity and a long sleeve midweight wool baselayer.

I agree with Rhunter424 above. I've worn a t-shirt, Naga Hoodie and Atom LT in weather down into the teens and I've been comfortable standing still for long periods of time.

As far as a comparison to the Marine Corps-issued fleece, I'd say the Atom LT is warmer and definitely more wind-resistant.

Anyone kept up with the new 2018 Arc'Teryx LEAF releases? They just announced them and put a small number of them up for sale at distributors.

I'm guessing the rest of the 2018 line will become available after SHOT next week.

Something tells me that we’ve seen pretty much everything in this years update. Big deal is the SVX release. Couple minor tweaks and new color ways here and there.

My apologies for any redundancy, but this thread is gargantuan.

I’m in need of a new/improved cold weather base layer for under my uniform.

Are the LEAF prices what you see when you google “Arc’tyrex LEAF” and a bunch of retailers come up or is there somewhere that I can enroll to get “good guy” prices?

Thanks.

I done did figured it out by simply scrolling down the page.

US elite Gear for clearance. Inventory can be sketchy because it’s clearance.

Arcteryx LEAF Pro Deal basically any other time. It’s about 20% off.  LEAF vendors will have a sale every few months. Those are 20-25% off.

+1 on U.S. Elite!  Make sure you sign up for the "good guys discount" with U.S. Elite if you qualify.

I've purchased my last 2 Arc'teryx LEAF products from U.S. Elite.  Great customer service!  I looked at the Arc'teryx LEAF website, but ended up going with U.S. Elite. Price difference was only $10 more with U.S. Elite (since they had free shipping and Arc'teryx charged shipping) but the big reason I went with them was they offer Returns / Exchanges were Arc'teryx doesn't.  I'm glad I went with U.S. Elite too because I had to exchange my 1st item for a larger size. Zero issues and outstanding customer service! She even shipped my exchange item out to me before they received my return since they only had 1 more in-stock in the size I needed and she wanted to make sure I got it.

We regret to inform you that as of Sept 1 2018 your account under the Arc’teryx LEAF 20 Program will no longer be valid and the program will be discontinued."

Saw this yesterday on some other pages.  Sounds like Arc'teryx is going to cut out the Direct Sales to LE / MIL but will still use retailers for it (i.e. U.S Elite Gear).

Not 100% sure, but that's what I was getting reading everything.  Hopefully someone else here can chime in with more info.  That would suck if it was going away completely....

You’re right.  LEAF will still be producing their gear but will be selling through approved retailers like Tactical Distributors and US Elite Gear.

So we’ll still be able to buy LEAF shit. But any discounts will be had through the distributors as opposed to directly from Arc’Teryx like it is now.

I can’t speak to the exact reason though.

They may have changed policy due to decrease war activity and just decided that extra layer of service wasn't worth the effort.  Or ... because it was abused ...

From a business standpoint, I could see that.  Keep the LEAF line, but streamline sales to distributors only (an already existing lane) and save on the personnel used to process direct sales to end users.

The unconfirmed explanation I heard, was their direct LE / MIL sales didn't account for much and it was easier to do it all through distributors.

Again, just what I was told...

Ok, I thought I was smoking crack but it looks like the login issue is systemic.

Most distributers tend to have regular sales or mil/LE discounts equal to or greater than the LEAF program discount. I believe that played into the decision as well

you can still get the same kit, as discounted prices, but from your favourite geardo retailer instead of Arc direct.

Here's what the folks at Arc'teryx had to say about my inquiry with respect to the LEAF program, not good news

Thank you for your email . Unfortunately we regret to inform you that this program is no longer operational.

We are committed to maintaining the highest level of customer service across all of our programs, however we learned that the LEAF Purchase Program has limited uptake yet requires significant program maintenance. For this reason, we made the decision to discontinue the program in order to refocus our efforts on other customer initiatives.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and ask that you please contact your local Arc'teryx tactical retailers for direct purchasing needs.

I bought a bit of LEAF stuff back when I could get my hands on the Canada stuff but now-a-days I look for more domestic production first like Beyond or WT.

I even gave Crye a try with their Loft Jacket. IMO I like it better than the ATOM LT jacket. About the same in terms of insulation but the outer shell is far more durable with a 70D nylon. The outer fabric of my ATOMs would look worn down after about a year and a half of hard use but my Crye Loft still looks pretty new.
