I have the LEAF Cold WX Zip-Neck AR and the LEAF Cold WX Long-Sleeve Shirt. They’re both great. They’re both thinner, merino wool base layers that are more about moisture management than straight insulation and warmth. But they perform great in cold weather.

If you’re gonna be static in cold weather, I’d recommend the LEAF Cold WX Zip-Neck SV. It should provide more insulation to you.

As far as the length, I’ve had no issues. I wear the Long-Sleeve under my armor and gun belt at work with no issues of it coming untucked.

I have several pieces of Arc’teryx merino wool. Their older version and newer nylon wrapped merino versions. I really like them a lot. I swapped to them from Smartwool as the Smartwool started to wear holes in them. I find the LTW Arc pieces to be as warm, more durable, and have a much better fit. If it’s very cold I add a RHO layer on top.

Icebreaker I've found holds up really well for a t-shirt base layer under armor, just got a couple smartwool im trying out. time will tell. My icebreaker has 4 years of near constant use under my body armour at work, just now starting to develop wear marks and tiny holes.

I have a bunch of Icebreaker stuff. I find their durability to be strange. Some stuff seems to wear like iron while other stuff has been pretty delicate.

I only wear wool against my skin. If it is really cold out I like a lighter weight (120-150) wool base layer and will ECWCS grid fleece over them.

This is what I was looking for. I find Smartwool to be the gold standard in comfort, fit, and warmth. They just do not do so well in the durability department.

One thing I do not like about the RHO line is there is no fly. Too much of a PIA when you have to take a leak IMO.

I just picked up a couple of pairs of the xFunctional pants.

I can fit (2) Glock 43 magazines in the "upper" pocket and they are completely concealed. I would like to have them secured someway so they are not floating around in that pocket.

Anyone doing something similar and come up with a COTS solution?

I like the NEOmag. Keeps my mag in place pretty much in any pocket and conceals well.

Someone around here was making a duck tape based pocket magazine pouch for a similar situation if I recall correctly? Also, I’m very impressed with the pair of xFunctional pants I got, the pocket layout is great. Just wish it wasn’t triple digits out right now so I could wear them.

Not really LEAF, but still Arc'teryx.... Anyone use / play with the Nodin jacket?  I've been thinking about picking one up lately.

The Gen1's ran big so everyone was going down one size. I was told the Gen2's are true to size.

There are only two colors on the LEAF site so it looks like Gen1's "greenstone" was dropped.

The brown and grey ones look darker than the Gen1's but I do not have any Gen2's to compare to my Gen1's. They do have different color names than the Gen1's.

AFAIK nothing else was changed.

BTW - if anyone is interested I have (3) pairs of the Gen1's - size 36x32 - one in each color I picked up when LAPolicegear had them on sale. They do not fit my fat ass. I was going to send them back but if anyone here wants them let me know. The green and khaki are still in the package. The grey ones were tried on and worn for 10 minutes to check fit and how I liked the pocket setup. I just want the $60 per pair I paid and shipping.

Has anyone removed the little SD card pocket from the inside of the pocket on the xFunctional pants?

I want to remove the one from the left pocket. I keep catching the corner of my cell phone on it.

Normally I would just cut the stitching but it looks like the stitching on the bottom of it runs inline with the stitching for the upper front pocket. I am not sure if the upper pocket has its own stitching under the SD card pocket.

Why the hell is there an SD card slot in pants?

The button is a camera and a mic. You can record.

JIC I was not clear in my original post, does anyone know if they stitched the "upper pocket" first and then added the small pocket over it with its own stitching?

Cool, thanks for the coupon code!  I picked up a Cormac shirt I'd been eyeing.

How do you like the Cormac shirt?

I'm digging it big time.  Very comfortable in hot weather and very functional.  It lives up to its billing, which is to wick sweat efficiently and help regulate body temp in hot conditions.  I've worn it trail running, lifting at the gym and casually on hot days.  I haven't hiked with it yet, but it looks like the seam placement might be less than optimal with regard to location of contact with pack straps.  I'd probably pick up another one on sale if they had another color other than black, which I avoid wearing in the heat to begin with.  I bought the gray one.

Need a LEAF Courier 15.  Logged into my old LEAF account to find LEAF accounts a dead thing.  What is TASWEB?  How does one acquire access to TASWEB whatever that may be?  Any other alternatives for acquiring LEAF products via a good guy program?

Long story short, we can't do direct purchases through LEAF per se anymore.  Arc'teryx is still going strong with the LEAF line, but it's now only available for individual purchases through distributors like US Elite, Deliberate Dynamics, et al.

No problem, Brother

I've had excellent CS from both companies I listed by name, and they give good guy discounts, too.  Come to think of it, DD has an excellent sale around Veteran's Day, with pretty significant discounts on LEAF kit.  I've scored a couple of Arc packs that way.

For the guys that have the  WX AR wool base layer - how do they run size-wise. Some reviews said they ran small.

I have a Delta AR in XL the fits just right for a mid layer. The WX would go under something like that.

I am not sure if I should get a WX in L or XL?

What’s your chest size?   Assuming we’re talking tops here.
